Programs

Altar Boys: Ages 8 through 17

Called to service their Church as "akolouthes" (acolytes).  With adult advisors, the boys are trained during Divine Liturgies and other religious events.

 

Bible Study: All Ages

This program meets every Thursday morning.  A one-hour Bible Study is open to everyone.  Learn with your peers how to understand God's message as it pertains to our Orthodox Christian life.

 

Greek Orthodox Youth of America (GOYA): Ages 13 through 17

This teen based youth program meets twice every month.  Under the guidance of an adult advisor, the youth plan activities and run their meetings.  Activities include winter camp/retreat, participation in the Diocesan Basketball Tournament, and other events.

 

Greek Dance: Ionians - Ages 7 to 12, Dorians - Ages 13 to Adult

These groups each meet on one evening per week to learn dances of the various regions of Greece.  Performances include the Annual Church Festival, the Holiday Folk Fair, and other cultural events.

 

Greek Language School: K5-6th Grade & Adult

This 32-week Modern Greek language program is supported by our parish.  Classes meet every Monday or Tuesday of every week.  Separate curriculums are offered for children from Greek speaking homes and non-Greek speaking homes.  The program is also strongly supported by a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), which meets frequently throughout the school year.  Adult sessions also meet one evening a week.  (See Publications for forms.)

 

Junior Orthodox Youth (JOY): Ages 8 through 12

This youth program meets every month, which include a youth based Bible study and fun activities, such as excursions and sports competitions.

 

Parish Council

The board is comprised of 15 elected parishioners, each elected to a 3 year term.  Among the 15 members, a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer are elected annually.  The board meets the last Thursday of every month.

 

Ladies Philoptochos Society: "Friends of the Poor"

This organization is comprised of the ladies of the parish.  They have been a major force of our parish, since its inception.  Many generations of women have dedicated years of faithful service by working on countless fundraisers to fulfill their philanthropic obligations.

 

Sunday School: K3-12th Grade

Meets every Sunday at 11AM after the Liturgy.

 

Missions

Diaconia Agape "Service of Love"
This mission supports the needy on a local level by collecting and distributing canned goods, filling and distributing holiday food baskets and offering assistance to parish families when necessary.

Foreign Missions Ministry
This mission supports Orthodox Missions on a global level by working closely with the Orthodox Christian Mission Center.  Programs such as the Agape Canister program and Support a Mission Priest (SAMP) receive assistance from this active church organization.
